Grows/Cultivation

Can generate plant parts which have no value, and that do not fall into the 4 specified plant parts that can be burned, mulched, or composted in regulations with the DEQ. Growers could have crop loss from mold, bugs etc. or product that fails testing which must be destroyed by a Disposal company. Growers may also use disposable items that become contaminated with THC.

Testing Laboratories

Will generate used samples of products along with disposable containers, culture slides and items used in the testing process of cannabis. Testing will also generate leftover contaminated chemicals that will need to be disposed of. *Some of these chemicals could be classified as Hazardous and should only be handled by a licensed facility.

Dispensaries

Will have product that is returned, out of date or recalled. Product that gets contaminated from dirty environment or unsuitable to dispense to patients. Dispensaries should also properly dispose of gloves, wholesale packaging, and other any items that have been in contact with Cannabis THC.

Can generate spent or partially spent biomass. They may also have used chemicals that were used in the extraction process. Processors may also have product that fails testing and must be disposed of. Disposable items such as wax paper, zip lock bags, gloves, masks etc. used during the processing process should be disposed of.

Your initial site inspection will allow us to evaluate and understand your specific needs. We will help you identify your cannabis waste for compliance.

Waste Management Plan

Post site inspection, EWM will create a specific cannabis waste management plan for you addressing all applicable local , State and Federal laws.

Delivery of your Bins

In a predetermined secure location, we will place our secure bins for cannabis waste accumulation. We will also provide industrial zip-ties that you can use to secure the bins once you are finished using them. This will keep the contents of your bins locked and secure.

Pick Up.png

Pick-Up of your Bins

Once your bins are full, we will arrive at your location to replace your full bins. At pick-up your bins will be weighed using an Optima 917 Series Scale with a readability of no more than 0.2lbs and a max weight limit of 1,000lbs. After your bins have been loaded, we will then replace those bins with clean empty bins in the designated location.

Waste Manifest

Not all waste is created equal. Once your waste has been picked-up and weighed a Waste Manifest Number will be assigned to your pick-up. This allows us to responsibly keep track of your waste using the tracked and traced method. Once your waste has been recycled or destroyed, you will receive a certificate of destruction. This allows you the peace of mind that your waste was properly disposed of meeting All States Guidelines.

What is Medical Marijuana Waste Mean?
According to Oklahoma Statue, Title §63-428.1.7, “Medical marijuana waste” shall mean Unused, Surplus, Returned or Out-of-Date Marijuana and Plant Debris of the plant of the Genus Cannabis, including Dead Plants and All Unused Plant Parts, except the term shall not include roots, stems, stalks and fan leaves.310:681-5-10. (a)All medical marijuana plant material and waste generated during the cultivation, production, processing, handling, and testingof medical marijuana and medical marijuana products must be stored, managed, and disposed of in accordance with these Rules, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Waste Management Act, 63 O.S. § 427a et seq., and any other applicable Oklahoma statutes and rules.
What waste can a Licensee get rid of themselves?
Under SB882, only a Medical Marijuana Grower can dispose of Medical Marijuana Waste and that waste is limited to four different types; Root Balls, Stems, Fan Leaves and Seeds.
Do I need a Waste Management Plan?
Yes. Any operator planning to conduct commercial Medical Marijuana Activities need to have a waste management plan. This includes all Cultivators, Grows, Manufactures, Dispensaries, Laboratory and Distributors.
How often do I need to dispose of my Medical Marijuana Waste?
It is recommended that all Medical Marijuana Waste be set aside and serviced with the containers are filled up. It is best practice that filled containers should be picked up and removed from the site every 30 days.
Can I schedule individual pickups?
Yes. EWM offers very flexible services for its clients. EWM services can be individual or scheduled daily, weekly or monthly pickups.
Can I throw my Medical Marijuana Waste in the trash?
No, an operator cannot throw Medical Marijuana Waste into a conventional trash receptacle. This is not compliant with the State Regulations. Waste must be managed by a licensed Waste Disposal Company.
Do ancillary tools for manufacturing (i.e wax papers, gloves, lab utensils, rockwool, etc.) that have cannabis residue need to be property disposed of?
Yes. Any ancillary tool that has residues of THC must be disposed by a licensed Waste Disposal Company.
Does Medical Marijuana Waste need to be Track and Traced?
Yes, all waste needs to be track and traced with Oklahoma manifest documentation.
Can any licensed transporter transport Medical Marijuana Waste?
